In the framework of the project: “Upgrade of skills for young designers, fashion graduates and start-ups in the cross-border area and development of a Fashion Employment Hub” with the acronym “FASHION EMPLOYMENT HUB” of the INTERREG IPA CBC Cooperation Program 2014 – 2020 KDVM Region of Central Macedonia participated as a lead partner and implemented three training programs of a total duration of 120 hours for a total of 75 beneficiaries.
The duration of the courses amounted to a total of 120 hours and the courses were held through the online platform ZOOM and the proprietary distance learning platform of the Center, as well as part of the hours of the third program in the modern sewing workshop of the center.
The project provided theoretical training for entrepreneurs, both entrepreneurs, employed and unemployed, graduates of at least B/secondary education, (High school, I.E.K., A.E.I., T.E.I.) of a total duration of 120 hours , which were designed in such a way as to be interconnected and in line with the objectives of each module.

The first section entitled “Certified Export Trade Executive- fashion business management” started on 19/04/2023 and ended on 10/06/2023.The thematic units of the theoretical training were:
• Basic principles of marketing – entrepreneurship in the clothing industry,
• The role of innovation in the clothing industry, especially entrepreneurship issues in the clothing industry,
• Digital Marketing and Fashion,
• Clothing Brand Management,
• Special issues of supply chain management in clothing,
• Basic principles of entrepreneurship in the clothing industry,
• Basic operating principles of fashion export businesses,
• Fashion sales techniques & consumer behavior,
• Exhibition marketing & participation in fashion exhibitions,
• Intercultural communication & foreign markets in the clothing industry and
• Job finding techniques
• Basic principles of labor law,
• Basic principles of business operation, application of the principle of non-discrimination,
• Health and safety in the business,
The specific units that made up the theoretical training aimed at acquiring the necessary skills to improve the knowledge and skills of the trainees. The specific units were created based on the educational needs and the level of the trainees as it emerged from the educational needs investigation.

The second part of the program entitled “Certified Digital Image processing” started on 10/07/2023 and ended on 04/11/2023.
The thematic units of the theoretical training were:
• Introduction to digital fashion design – CAD Fashion
• Windows & Photoshop familiarity with the environment
• Create Fashion Designer Mockup
• Insert shapes and text
• The digital Boards of the collection
• Drawing and image editing
• Digital Design
• Digital Fabric & Print Design
• Final Collection Presentation
• Introduction to Adobe Illustrator
• Design in illustrator-
• Creation of a technical sketch
• Figure design in illustrator
• Create prints
• Final Presentation
• Vocational guidance
• Job finding techniques
• Health and safety at work
• Basic principles of labor law, Basic principles of business operation,
• Application of the principle of non-discrimination.

The third part of the program entitled “Certified Special Fashion Designer – Costume Designer – Stylist” started on 21/09/2023 and ended on 18/11/2023. The duration of the courses amounted to a total of 120 hours, of which 96 hours were carried out through the ZOOM electronic platform and the remaining 24 hours were carried out in person in the modern tailoring workshop of the KDBM.

• Introduction to digital fashion design – CAD Fashion
• Windows & Photoshop familiarity with the environment

• The digital Boards of the collection
• Drawing and image editing

Objective of the project:

The focus of the project is on the last critical parameter, the development of human capital capabilities, especially the young educated graduates who form an important part of the national workforce of the two countries. After all, the industry needs specialized employees and executives, as well as competitive services. The Greek textile and clothing industry was for decades the driving force of the country’s economic development. However, in recent years Greek textile and clothing companies have faced serious challenges. According to recent statistics, the workers in the Greek textile and clothing industry are estimated at approximately 25,000 and the companies operating more than 2,000.
The general objective of the project is the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge, on the part of the trainees, which are related to the skills and techniques to work in a unit of the fashion sector but also of business, to face the common cross-border challenges of the sector of fashion by establishing a Fashion Employment Hub and a dormitory that will support SMEs and young graduates in the fashion sectors (clothing, footwear, leather, jewellery).
